Chinese Medicine
For more than twenty-three centuries, traditional Chinese medicine has successfully diagnosed, treated and prevented myriad illnesses and can also be a way to help alter a state of mind and increase the power and immunity in a patient. In Chinese theology, all aspects of life are governed by two opposite principles: yin and yang. And when a person’s yin and yang are in harmony, there is the presence of health and good fortune. A lack of harmony in a person’s life, however, leads to illness and misfortune. It is therefore the goal of Chinese medicine to restore harmony to the life of a patient.
Traditional Chinese medicine is generally accepted as mainstream medicine throughout Asia, though much of the Western world stills considers Chinese medicine a form of alternative medicine. This type of medicine includes everything from the use of herbs, acupuncture, diet therapy, and various forms of massage.
Most of the scientific research that has been conducted on Chinese medicine relates directly to the effectiveness of acupuncture. Traditional scientists do not fully understand how or why exactly acupuncture works, but the fact is that there have been a variety of studies completed that show that acupuncture can effectively treat nausea, infertility, back pain, neck pain, and headaches. Many people who are frustrated with the limits of modern medicine and have been experiencing chronic pain often turn to acupuncture or other traditional Chinese medicine to find relief. If you feel the need to explore a new channel toward health and wellness, you may want to consider Chinese medicine.
