Back Pain
Did you know that over their lives, nearly 80 percent of all adults experience some sort of serious back pain? It’s true! And while many cases of back pain are not serious, there are situations where you should go and talk to your doctor. But how do you judge whether the back pain that you are experiencing is serious enough that it requires a doctor’s care? Here is a simple list of questions to help determine if it is time to take action against your back pain:
o Do you have pain in your lower back that is starting to extend down your leg?
o If you have pain in your leg as well, does the leg pain get worse when you bend over or lift your legs?
o Have you recently suffered from a fall or injury?
o Has your back pain been ongoing? For more than three weeks?
o Is the pain in your back worse when you are trying to rest?
o Does your back pain wake you up from sleep?
o Have you also been dealing with bladder or bowel trouble?
o Have you experienced leg numbness or weakness while walking?
If you answered “yes” to any one of these questions, it is mostly likely time to talk to your doctor about your persistent back pain. You should stop expecting your pain to subside and start taking the action necessary to correct the problems you are experiencing. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel
